QPR fans see Matty Taylor as a striker who would be ideal for the club.

After all, the Bristol Rovers player has hit 19 goals in 32 appearances for the League One outfit this season.

But Ian Holloway begs to differ and explains why.

The Hoops gaffer is worried he might have another Conor Washington situation on his hands.

Namely, and expensive lower league import, with only three goals to his credit in the Championship since he arrived nearly a year ago.

On top of which, Taylor doesn’t quite fit the bill of ‘pace and power’ in a team built on a hard-working ethic.

Ollie said: "I shouldn't talk about anyone else's players.

"But there's lots of players who step up a level and can score, but it's about the balance that I need of pace and power.

“A ball from back to front sometimes, if (Idrissa) Sylla's injured, have I got anyone who can do that? I'm not so sure I have really.

“Jamie Mackie tried it against Blackburn Rovers (in the FA Cup), he'll have a go for me, but he isn't a natural, so I've got a bit of work to do if I can.

“So Matty Taylor isn't really that sort of player."
