Harry Redknapp admits he is still in the dark over wantaway midfielder Adel Taarabt’s QPR future with one week to go before the big Premier League kick-off.
Rangers will host Hull City in the opening game of the 2014-15 season at Loftus Road next Saturday.
They signed off for pre-season with a disappointing 1-0 loss to PAOK today as Clint Hill’s second-half own goal was enough to condemn them to defeat.
Redknapp reckons the Moroccan playmaker will be available to train at Harlington next week but doesn’t think Taarabt is keen to remain an R’s player.
“I don’t know what’ll happen with Adel,” he conceded.
“He’s not trained and he’s miles away from being fit at the moment. I think he’s fit to train this week but I think he wants to move.
“I’ve said many times, if he doesn’t want to be here and somebody wants to pay the money then we’ll do the deal. They’ve got to pay the right money though. He won’t go cheap.”
Taarabt impressed on loan at AC Milan in the second half of last season but a permanent switch to Serie A has failed to materialise.
His £65,000-a-week wage is understood to be putting off potential buyers.
