French giants PSG are confident they have stolen a march on the bid to sign Chelsea target Franck Kessie from Serie A side Atalanta, according to a report in today's L'Equipe sports paper.
An article on the gazzamercato Italian football transfer website today refers to a report in the French publication which states the Parisian club has lodged an initial $25 million bid to prise the 20-year-old away from his club in Bergamo.
Kessie's agent, George Atangana, is reportedly in talks with the Qatar-funded PSG and L'Equip e reports the French are confident the midfielder is ready to move to Paris over rival interest from Juventus and Manchester United, as well as Antonio Conte 's Blues .
The $25m offer is thought to be aimed at testing the water and is expected to rise.
Kessie, whose agent was reportedly in talks with Chelsea 12 days ago, is playing in the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon although his involvement will end tomorrow if he and his Ivorian compatriots fail to beat Morocco in Oyem.
