Northampton midfielder Matty Harriott has extended his loan spell at Hayes & Yeading for another month.

The 21-year-old was due to return to the Cobblers after United’s goalless stalemate with Chelmsford City on Saturday.

Phil Babb has been impressed with the youngster though and was quick to tie him down for another 30 days at Kingfield.

“Matty will be with us for another 30 days and perhaps longer if Northampton will allow that,” Babb said.

“He’s got bags of energy, he breaks the play up and he’s very good on the ball as well. We’ve had a bit of a conundrum with him because he plays well as a defensive midfielder but is good going forward as well. I suppose it’s a nice headache to have.”

Northampton will be able to recall Harriott from his loan period at 24 hours’ notice.

Meanwhile, Louis Dennis has returned to Dagenham & Redbridge after an underlying injury problem restricted his game-time under Babb.
