Jose Mourinho says there is no room for Fernando Torres at Chelsea amid claims AC Milan want to cut the striker’s loan spell short.

The club-record £50million man was sent to the San Siro on a two-year deal in the summer to see out the remainder of his contract.

Torres has only found the net once in 10 games for Milan though and reports this morning suggest the loan will be ended prematurely.

Dark days: Chelsea's Fernando Torres

However, Blues manager Mourinho has dismissed the suggestions the Spaniard could be heading back to Stamford Bridge.

"I don't know, but he's on loan for two seasons at AC Milan," Mourinho said.

"He is our player, but he is on loan and we have no space for more players on our list, either in the Champions League or the Premier League. That's an impossible picture.

No return: Fernando Torres

"But I have to say nobody from AC Milan has said about that possibility, so probably nothing is true and more than possibly he is happy at Milan and Milan are happy to have him."

Mourinho wants to run with three strikers this season and already has Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba in place.

Patrick Bamford’s loan stay is due to expire in January but the Special One has given him the green light to continue to learn his trade at the Riverside Stadium.
