Niko Kranjcar is ready to take a massive wage cut to pave the way for a permanent move to QPR.

Harry Redknapp is keen to bring the Dynamo Kiev playmaker back to Loftus Road after a successful spell on loan last season.

And Kranjcar is so desperate to return to Loftus Road he is prepared to rip up his lucrative contract in the Ukraine to clear the decks for a return to W12.

Injury woe: Kranjcar missed the World Cup after suffering a hamstring tear at Wembley

Boss Redknapp said: "I like Niko. I think his agent is looking at it and can do a deal that suits the club.

"He would like to come back here and will take a massive drop in wages. He enjoys it and is a good lad."

The Croatian star featured 35 times for Rangers last campaign but suffered a serious hamstring injury during the Hoops’ magnificent play-off final triumph at Wembley in May.

“He can play Premier League football, there’s no doubt about it," Redknapp added. "They’re the type of players we need – players with a bit of quality.

“He needs to get up and running but certainly his ability is not in question. If he comes back and gets in good shape he will be a big asset to us again."

Meanwhile, Redknapp is also interested in a reunion with former Spurs star Rafael van der Vaart.
