Jake Reeves is a free agent after cancelling his Brentford contract by mutual consent.

The dynamic midfielder had a year to run on his Bees deal but has today parted ways with the Griffin Park club.

Reeves was made available for loan by boss Mark Warburton earlier this month after falling down the pecking order at the Championship outfit.

However, he has now left the club completely and is free to look elsewhere for first-team football.

“Jake has done a fantastic job for us,” Warburton said. “He has come through the Academy system here; he is well-liked, well respected and very talented.

“But he needs to play week-in, week-out. With the level of player we have here now, that opportunity is not available at Brentford now.

“His contribution should be recognised and I wish him well for the future.”

Reeves came through the ranks at Brentford having completed a two-year scholarship in 2011 before turning professional.
