Brentford boss Mark Warburton hopes to sign a replacement for Chuba Akpom in the next seven days.
The young striker returned to Arsenal this week after a disappointing spell at Griffin Park where he failed to find the net in four substitute appearances for the Bees.
However, Warburton has already earmarked a replacement who should be on board in time for next week’s top of the table clash with Wolves.
He said: “Arsenal want their boys to go out and start games, but Marcello Trotta is our first-choice striker and Will Grigg is pushing hard, so it’s been difficult.
“Chuba was due to play in the FA Youth Cup anyway, so we all decided it was in his best interests to go back when his loan ended.
“We have got someone in mind to replace him, and hopefully that can be done in the next seven days.”
