Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is going to run the rule over Sergi Canos this week after the Spaniard returned to Anfield from his successful loan spell at Brentford.

The 19-year-old made 39 appearances for the west Londoners, finding the net seven times and scored the club's goal of the season.

The Reds boss has been pleased with how Canos has developed at the Bees, becoming a popular member of the squad and with the supporters, and the German is going to be having a closer look at him before the off-season, hinting that he could make his debut against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday if he is eligible to.

Klopp revealed, when asked by GetWestLondon : “The most early plan is that he will be in training today because he is back. He's been learning more about English football and it's possible he'll be available on Sunday.

“It's unbelievable, it's great. We'll see how he feels. He did really good at Brentford. He scored in the last game.

“He had a lot of time to play. For him, it was really good to be there. The Championship is quite a strong players and for young players it's difficult to go through but he did well.”
