Josh Clarke has returned to Brentford after his loan spell at League Two side Barnet came to an end.

The 21-year-old, who made three Championship appearances for the Bees under Marinus Dijkhuizen, moved to The Hive in October on a three-month loan deal after dropping down the pecking order under Lee Carsley.

His spell with the Bees ran until January 3 but Martin Allen elected not to extend the deal, with Clarke failing to make an appearance during Barnet's Christmas programme.

He scored three goals for the club, all of them coming in his first four matches as he was played in a more attacking position by the League Two club.

In total, Clarke played ten games for the club, but soon fell out of favour after a red card against Mansfield.

He will now return to training with Brentford from today (Monday January 4) and could feature in Saturday's FA Cup tie with Walsall.
