Marinus Dijkhuizen has confirmed Moses Odubajo wants to leave Brentford and join Hull.

The Tigers have activated a release clause in the full back's contract and the former Leyton Orient man pulled out of the club's 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat at Norwich in a bid to force a move to Humberside.

He told BeesPlayer: “He has a clause in his contract and Hull City want to pay the amount and he decided that he didn't want to play and wants to leave the club.”

Dijkhuizen had expected Odubajo to move to a Premier League club so is surprised by the move from Hull.

He added: “We think Moses is a very good player and it's a difficult position. There's not a lot of good right backs so I think it's possible to come to a Premier League club.

“We're patient with that. He wants to go and I respect that as he said it's a big opportunity for him.

“It's a big loss for us as he's a very good player but it's part of the game.”
