QPR won't splash the cash to sign Kevin Doyle this summer, Harry Redknapp has warned.

The Hoops boss is keen to capture the Wolves striker on a permanent deal after impressing on loan last season.

Doyle, who has a year remaining on his contract at Molineux, scored twice in 12 games during his time at Loftus Road as Rangers clinched promotion to the Premier League.

But boss Redknapp says the club won't be held to ransom over any package for the Irishman.

He said: "I like Kevin. He's proved it at the highest level. You know what you're getting.

"He worked his socks off for us, but it would have to be the right deal."

The 30-year-old is away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland and hopes to resolve his future later this month.

"I'll have no problem going back and everyone is perfectly civil and fine with me," he said. "It's not a case people don't talk to me.

"They have decisions to make and they'll make them. When I'm back it will be enjoyable training and we'll see then.

"It's up in the air, I am here until the end of the USA trip and back to Wolves on July 7, that's all I know, that's the only guarantee I have.

"There is nothing said and nothing has been guaranteed. That's fine. I'm used to that. I've a year left at Wolves and that's the only thing that's certain.

"It's all fine, I enjoyed my loan move, though. It was fantastic and it will be interesting to see what happens."
