Fulham are set to beat Norwich City to the signing of Leeds United captain Ross McCormack this week.

The 27-year-old did not travel with the rest of the Leeds team on their pre-season trip to Italy on Monday.

Instead he is believed to have made the journey down to London in an attempt to finalise his move to Craven Cottage.

Pointing the way: Ross McCormack is heading to Craven Cottage

McCormack was top scorer in the Championship last term after banging in 28 goals and would add much-needed firepower to the Whites attack.

United are a club in turmoil under the ownership of Massimo Cellino and Scottish forward McCormack is understood to have told the Italian he wanted to quit the club last week.

Fulham saw their first bid of £5million bid for the striker rebuffed, however Felix Magath’s second offer is thought to be closer to the £10million Cellino is looking for.

A deal for the frontman is expected to be concluded by Friday.
