Fulham defender Jazz Richards is close to swapping Craven Cottage for Cardiff City Stadium.

The Welsh international joined Fulham last Summer from Swansea City after a six-month loan spell at Craven Cottage the season before.

Richards also played a key role in assisting Wales’ European Championship qualification, and made an appearance for his country against their 2-1 win against Slovakia.

The 25-year-old made 26 appearances for Fulham last season before falling down the pecking order under new manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

And with the Whites bringing in Chelsea’s Tomas Kalas on loan and Cardiff manager Paul Trollope an admirer of Richards, the Welsh side made a quick move.

Speaking to Wales Online, Trollope said: "We are linked with him (Richards) very heavily.

“We are hoping that's going to be completed in the very near future and we think he'll be a great addition to the squad.”

A medical was understood to be taking place on Monday afternoon.
