Fulham could face competition from Premier League newboys Brighton & Hove Albion for the signature of Fernando Forestieri if the bookmakers are to believed.

Reports in the national press this morning suggested Fulham were set to make a £12 million offer for the Italian star, who has scored 27 goals in his last two Championship seasons for the Owls.

And bookies Sky Bet make the Cottagers the favourites to land the 27-year-old before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.

The strikeforce was an area Slavisa Jokanovic was keen to bolster this summer, but they have already added Rui Fonte and Aboubakar Kamara to their squad during this window.

Forestieri has reportedly fallen out with a number of people at Hillsborough and the Owls could be keen to cash in now.

And Fulham are the 11/10 favourites with Sky Bet to land the frontman before the 11pm deadline on Thursday, with Brighton priced at 4/1 to steal him away.

They look to be the only two possible destinations, with the likes of Watford and Newcastle United available at 22/1 and 25/1 respectively.
