Fulham have confirmed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood on a season-long loan.

The two clubs agreed on a deal yesterday, with the Northern Irishman completing a medical and signing on the dotted line for Slavisa Jokanovic's men today.

Norwood, who plays in midfield, is also a Northern Irish international and is under contract at the Amex Stadium until 2019, but was not first choice under Chris Hughton.

The 26-year-old signed for the Premier League outfit from Reading last summer and made 16 starts for the club in the Championship as they won promotion to the top flight.

Norwood told the club's official website: "I'm just delighted to be here. Having played Fulham the last two seasons, the football they have played, it suits my style, it suits the way I like to play football.

"Once I knew of the interest I was desperate to get it done and I am very happy to be here."

Fulham have already made two signings in this transfer window, with Marcelo Djalo signing from Lugo and Ibrahima Cisse signing from Standard Liege, and are expected to be busy in the coming weeks as they look to build a team capable of winning promotion to the Premier League.
