Former Fulham and Tottenham man Lewis Holtby has been linked with a return to English football.

According to the Mirror, Newcastle United and Bournemouth are both keen on a deal to land the German international from Hamburg.

Holtby was signed by then-Spurs boss Andrew Villas-Boas, and dubbed "the bargain of the century" following his £1.5m move from Schalke, but he failed to impress in North London.

He was then moved on loan to Fulham, before joining Hamburg on loan with a view to a permanent move.

The 26-year-old is expected to cost in the region of £5m.
