Filipe Luis' time at Chelsea has come to an end after just a year after the Blues confirmed they had reached a deal with Atletico Madrid.

The Brazilian failed to oust Cesar Azpilicueta in the left back role and was a peripheral figure as Chelsea regained the Premier League title and lifted the Capital One Cup.

Luis originally joined from Atletico, who he helped win the La Liga title and reach the Champions League final, at the Blues' expense.

It is the latest departure from Stamford Bridge this summer with Didier Drogba and Petr Cech leaving for Montreal and Arsenal respectively.

Manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in John Stones from Everton to bolster the defensive options, although the Englishman is seen as more of a centre back.
