Brentford have confirmed on-loan Everton striker Chris Long will be available for the play-offs.

The Bees booked their spot in the end-of-season lottery with a 3-0 victory over Wigan and will face Middlesbrough in the semi-final next week.

Long was left out of the squad for the Latics game after cutting his knee earlier in the week but was at Griffin Park to watch the drama unfold.

His loan spell was initially due to expire on May 2, although the club had always had the option to extend his stay if needed for additional fixtures.

Manager Mark Warburton confirmed: “He’s back.

“He was there with the boys today and he’ll be at the function tomorrow night.

“He played in the U21s game and got a nasty gash on his knee.

“He’ll train with us this week hopefully and I look forward to welcoming him back.”

Fellow loan stars Alex Pritchard and Jon Toral are also eligible for Brentford's remaining fixtures, which could see the Bees turn out at Wembley.
