Everton have completed the signing of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees unveiled their record new signing at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

The 21-year-old striker flew into Liverpool today to sign a five-year deal worth around £75,000 a week.

Everton are understood to have paid around £25m for the Belgium international who has been manager Roberto Martinez's number one transfer target this summer.

Cryptic clue: Romelu Lukaku's tweet earlier

Lukaku smashed 16 goals in 32 games for the Toffees last year in a season-long loan deal at Goodison Park and has now joined permanently.

He was due to hook up with the Blues on their pre-season tour but he earlier posted a picture of himself on Twitter seated on a jet, along with the caption: 'Time to write a new chapter.'

Lukaku made just 15 appearances for Chelsea since his switch from Anderlecht in 2011.
