SAMUEL Eto’o is raring to go after signing a one-year contract with Chelsea.

The Blues had been chasing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer but moved to secure the services of Eto’o when it became clear the England star would stay at Old Trafford.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho knows his new striker well from their trophy-laden time together at Inter and Eto’o cannot wait to get re-acquainted with the Special One.

“I am very happy to be here but also anxious because I want to get playing as soon as possible,” he said.

“It wasn't a hard decision. I saw the qualities Chelsea have, and I was very happy with Jose Mourinho before, so when the opportunity came, I was very happy to take it.”

Eto’o, who also lists Real Madrid and Barcelona among his list of former clubs, follows Willian in making the move from Anzhi Makhachkala.
