Emmanuel Ledesma has signed for Brentford after a successful trial period.

The winger has been brought in on a non-contract basis to add much-needed width to the Bees attack.

A decision will be taken later in the transfer window as to whether the Argentinian will be offered a deal at Griffin Park.

Bees manager Dean Smith worked with the player at Walsall and will be eligible to play in league and cup matches for the west Londoners.

Smith said: “For Emmanuel to get back to fitness he needs to play games. It will be a good thing for him to remain with us and then we will make a decision before the window closes.

“Signing him on a non-contract basis allows him to play games for us when we need it and also allows him to get his fitness up to the required level for the Championship.”

Ledesma did not feature at Huddersfield on the opening day but is now free to start working his way towards earning a contract under Smith’s guidance.
