Eliaquim Mangala is ready to snub Manchester City in favour of a summer move to Chelsea.

The French defender, who has the same agent as Blues boss Jose Mourinho, was linked with the Premier League champions in January.

But the 23-year-old Porto star says he wants to join Chelsea because they are in London.

"It's true that I love the Premier League because it is a spectacular championship," Mangala told French TV station beINSports.

"But there are big clubs in Spain and Germany as well as England. In January, there were discussions with City but nothing came of it because the two clubs did not strike a deal.

"It was a bit complicated to leave then. My goal now is the World Cup. We'll see what happens after.

"I told my agent, Jorge Mendes, I don't want to know anything before the end of the World Cup. Every player wants to move in larger clubs.

"I am an ambitious player and the team I would choose one that will allow me to win titles. I want to improve. The choice between Chelsea and Manchester City? I would say Chelsea because it is in London."
