Dundee United confirm deal for Brentford striker

SPL side make loan move for out-of-favour Moroccan marksman

Brentford striker Farid El Alagui has joined SPL side Dundee United on loan for the rest of the season.

The Chronicle revealed this afternoon that the former Falkirk frontman was headed for Tannadice Park, with the Bees set to bring in Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom.

Fleetwood Town, Partick Thistle and Ross County were also keen on his services, but the 28-year-old has opted to link up with Jackie McNamara's men.

El Alagui has been restricted to just one league start for Brentford this season, scoring six goals in 18 games in all competitions.

He could make his Dundee debut in Sunday's trip to Inverness, subject to international clearance.
