AFC Wimbledon have extended the loan deal for Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke until April 4.

The 21-year old scored on his debut against Wycombe earlier this month and has made five appearances so far for the Dons.

His initial deal was due to expire after tomorrow's trip to Oxford, but the clubs have now agreed for the frontman to remain at Kingsmeadow for another two months.

Wyke told the Wimbledon website: “I’m really happy that this has been done for another couple of months.

“I can settle down now that I know where I’m going to be and hopefully I can push on and help the club get more points.

“I’ve not managed to score in the last few games, but the manager is happy whoever scores the goals.

"I feel like I have been making a contribution, but I have to keep working hard and get more goals.

"I am getting sharper with every game and hopefully I can help us get more wins.”
