Neal Ardley admits there could be more new faces through the door before the loan window closes later this month.

The AFC Wimbledon boss bolstered his attacking options with the signing of Port Vale forward Kaid Mohamed on Monday.

Mohamed smashed five goals in 10 games during a short spell at Kingsmeadow in 2011, and has agreed a deal to January.

And boss Ardley has revealed he is still on the lookout for more reinforcements ahead of the busy festive schedule.

He said: “There's a couple of players we have seen on our travels that excite us.

"We're active on the recruitment side because we've got a busy period coming up and we need to make sure we're covered."

Meanwhile, Ardley says he won’t stand in anyone’s way if his fringe players want to go on loan.

Striker Charlie Strutton spent a prolific stint with Braintree Town, scoring six goals in seven games, before coming back to Wimbledon and staking a claim.

And Ardley believes a similar spell away from the club could benefit some other members of his squad.

He added: “There's the possibility of getting some out if it benefits a player's development or they're unhappy.

"If we felt we are going to bring anyone in we could loan our fringe players out to help balance the books."
