Andre Gray remains happy at Brentford but is also flattered by interest shown in him by other clubs.

The Bees striker has been linked with a move to Hull all summer and the Tigers have seen three bids rejected already.

Brentford want £7million plus £2m add-ons and will not accept a lower offer and Gray, unlike Adam Forshaw last summer, is still training with the group and will face Bristol City tomorrow.

“He's still happy at the club but he's also proud other clubs want him. He's a human being,” Dijkhuizen said.

“I think last week was more difficult. Now, he can play so it's different from last week. I always talk to him.

“I know I can improve him as he's still young and in his second year in the Championship. I hope he will decide to stay here. He's under contract so, if other clubs don't play the right price (then he will stay).”

The Dutchman, a striker himself in his playing career, believes he can improve Gray from his 18-goal showing last season and believes other club's are jealous of Brentford for having a talent such as him on their books.

He added: “I've spoken to him. I can advise him on some things. He's not the same type of striker as me. He's much quicker.

“You saw what happened against Ipswich. Other clubs are jealous of us having him. I can understand there's potential of getting big money. It's difficult for him. I was happy with him on the pitch.”
