Shaun Derry has left QPR to take up the managerial hotseat at League One outfit Notts County.

The veteran midfielder made 99 appearances during his three-and-a-half years at Loftus Road, but featured just once this season and was shipped out on loan to Millwall.

However, the 35-year-old has had his contract at Loftus Road cancelled to take his first steps into management with the Magpies, where he started his career as a player.

Derry will take charge for the first time when they face Hartlepool United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
