Brentford head coach Dean Smith has insisted, once again, that he has not had any bids for any of his players.

Jota has been linked with a host of teams, including the likes of West Ham, Swansea and Everton, but played the majority of the 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.

Rico Henry has also been linked with a move to Hull in the week but, much like Jota, there have been no concrete offers coming in.

I can deny any bids for any players,” Smith said.

“I think all the chat on Jota has been done before. He's our player and he's committed to this season at the moment.

“We've had no bids for him and he's happy to pull on the Brentford shirt. His free kick was very good. We know the qualities he has got.”

Maxime Colin on the ball for Brentford

Maxime Colin missed the game due to becoming a father for the first time.

Smith confirmed: “I can confirm that. I got a text at 3am from Max which normally means trouble. Thankfully it was good news. He's had a healthy baby boy.”

Josh Clarke was also absent and this was due to an ankle injury he picked up at MK Dons on Tuesday night.

The Brentford boss revealed: “Josh Clarke trained this morning but he got a knock on the ankle at MK Dons and it wasn't worth risking him for that.”

Speculation had linked Josh Windass with a move to Griffin Park but Smith confirmed there had been no talks over the Rangers man.

Smith insisted: “I can't confirm any rumours. We've not been talking to Josh Windass at all.”
