David Button completed his move from Brentford to Fulham on Tuesday evening and featured in the club's 3-0 win over Brighton at Aldershot.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper spent three seasons at Griffin Park, playing 134 league games for the Bees, winning a League One runners up medal in 2014.

He was an ever-present in the side that finished fifth in the Championship in 2015 as well as last season where the Bees finished ninth.

Button is in place to rival Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli for the club's starting role and he will be giving the Whites stopper a hard time on the training ground.

Below are five things to know about Fulham's new goalkeeper.

Twenty Seven

Number: 27

Despite the number one shirt becoming available last season after Richard Lee’s retirement, Button kept the number 27.

There are three reasons for this; the 27-year-old was born on February 27 1989. His wife, Jade, was also born on the 27th.

To complete the set, they first got together on the 27th as well, meaning it is a special number for the couple and why Button has elected to keep the number during his time at Brentford.

With that number currently available at Craven Cottage, it is likely that Button will continue to wear 27.

Better than Jenson

Jenson Button

Opposition fans have, on occasions, mocked the goalkeeper, labelling him a rubbish (may be a different word) Jenson Button.

However, the goalkeeper has picked up more silverware in his time at Griffin Park than the McLaren driver has done in that time; a League One runners up medal compared to an inherited third place at the Australian Grand Prix in 2014 after Daniel Ricciardo’s disqualification.

The 27-year-old is a model of consistency and mistakes have been rare and, if they are made, then Button is happy to hold his hands up and admit he was at fault.

Button has not missed a league game for Brentford since October 2013 when Richard Lee played against Bristol City.

The stopper has not missed a game since, except when he was rested for cup ties with either Lee or Jack Bonham featuring in his place.

The 27-year-old keeps himself healthy, match fit and maintains his form well enough to keep his place in the side.

Button the Loan Ranger

Fulham is the fourth club Button has been contracted to as a professional, after Brentford, Charlton and Tottenham Hotspur, where he made one appearance in the League Cup.

During his time at White Hart Lane, Button had several loan moves where he only made a handful of appearances each time.

His first move was to Grays before he headed north to Rochdale before returning to the Essex club.

He spent a brief time with AFC Bournemouth, Luton, Dagenham and Crewe in 2009 before having a longer spell at Shrewsbury Town.

The following season saw him ply his trade at Plymouth before stints at Leyton Orient, Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley.

England Youth

Button has experience of playing for his country in age group internationals. He featured for England U16s three times between 2003 and 2004.

He was an England U17s regular between 2004 and 2006, playing 17 times for the Three Lions.

He made the step up to England U19s, playing 10 times, and also made one appearance for England U20.
