Everton have warned Chelsea that John Stones is not for sale.

Jose Mourinho’s Blues have had a £20million bid for the 21-year-old turned down by the Toffees.

Chelsea have long been admirers of the central defender but have only now acted on their interest.

Stones is on tour with the Goodison Park club in Singapore and last night spoke of his future at the club.

He said: “I am very happy at Everton.

Chelsea transfer target John Stones in pictures:

“My aim right now is to try and and nail down a regular spot in this Everton team and hopefully that will take care of playing for England.

“I have to keep learning of the likes of Phil Jagielka and keep progressing at this club.”

Stones signed for Everton from hometown club Barnsley for a fee of £3million in January 2013.

He was won four caps for England as is seen by many as a future Three Lions captain at the heart of the defence.

Sources on Merseyside claim Everton won’t listen to offers for the centre-back, who has four years remaining on his contract at Goodison.
