When it comes to the January transfer window things tend not to get too busy at Stamford Bridge.

Only a fifth of Chelsea transfers between the introduction of transfer windows in the summer of 2002 and the closing of the winter one in 2015 have been done during the winter window.

The club have signed just 18 players in the January window and 71 in the summer window.

Only one other Premier League club has signed a smaller percentage of their players in the winter window - Aston Villa (19%).

While they may be small in number, Chelsea's January signings are often rather large.

The club's biggest winter window signing is the 2011 capture of Fernando Torres for a reported £50m.

As much as £23.3m was reportedly spent on Juan Cuadrado, £21.3m on David Luiz, £21m on Nemanja Matic and £15m on Nicolas Anelka.

Transfers over last summer were not included in this article so as to keep the number of summer and winter windows the same.
