Antonio Conte will be linked with dozens of players over the next couple of months as he begins life as Chelsea’s new manager.

The Italian is leading his country into battle at Euro 2016 in France this summer before officially starting his new job in west London.

He will inherit a Chelsea team in need of rejuvenation after the club’s slide from champions to Premier League strugglers last season.

Cesc Fabregas admitted that Jose Mourinho paid the price for putting too much trust in the squad as they suffered their worst ever campaign under Roman Abramovich’s rule.

Abramovich was far from impressed and will be giving new boss Conte a healthy transfer budget to restore order at Stamford Bridge.

But how will he spend it? The Italian will stick to a league he knows well, Serie A, and has been heavily linked with some of the players under his control out at the Euros.

We’ve trawled through Conte’s Italy squad to pick out the players who could be following him to Chelsea for the start of the new Premier League season.

Leonardo Bonucci

Bonucci was arguably the best player on the pitch as Italy shut-out Belgium in their opening Euro 2016 Group E fixture.

He worked with Conte during the Italy manager’s time at Juventus and won three of his four league titles in Turin under the guidance of his national boss.

The centre-half is disciplined, solid and a leader - qualities Conte looks for in his recruits - and could be a key link in the dressing room at Stamford Bridge.

Giorgio Chiellini

If he can’t tempt Bonucci to move to London, Conte may try to tempt his pal Chiellini to join him at Chelsea.

Vastly experienced, much like his club and international team-mate, Chiellini would be a good addition to any defence in the world.

Former Liverpool star and now TV pundit Jamie Carragher reckons both centre-halves will be high on the Blues’ shopping list during the transfer window.

Mattia De Sciglio

The 23-year-old was likened to AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini from an early age and has already amassed more than 100 appearances at the San Siro club.

De Sciglio has been plagued by fitness issues at times but got back on the field towards the end of the season and earned himself a ticket to France this summer.

Cesar Azpilicueta has been touted as a potential transfer target for Barcelona and Conte could do worse than look to his international full-back as a replacement.

Antonio Candreva

Something of a traditional winger, Candreva was impressive in Italy’s 2-0 triumph over Belgium.

The Lazio star is understood to have held talks with Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan but the Blues are ready to hijack the deal.

His performance at the Euros has seen his asking price rise and Inter’s financial restraints may leave the path clear for Conte to swoop.

Emanuele Giaccherini

Sunderland attacker Giaccherini, who impressed in a season-long loan with Serie A club Bologna last term, scored Italy’s first goal at the Euros after showing an incredible first touch and fine finish.

Although he is entering the final year of his contract, the Black Cats are determined not to sell the 30-year-old on the cheap, despite never having brought his creative talent to bear on the English game.

With rumoured interest from Inter Milan, his agent stressed last week that Sunderland would not be prepared to take a loss on the player, who cost them £6.5m when he joined from Conte’s Juventus in 2013.

Graziano Pelle

Chelsea are in the market for a striker or two this summer and the name of Graziano Pelle has been mentioned as a transfer target.

The Southampton striker is proven in the Premier League and got himself on the scoresheet by netting the second in Italy’s 2-0 win over the Belgians.

Powerful, good in the air and able to bring others into play, Pelle is trusted by Conte and would provide competition for Diego Costa up front.

He has one year left on his current contract and Southampton aren't prepared to let him run his existing deal down and leave on a free at the end of next season.

That means selling him this summer if a new deal can't be agreed as they are determined to recoup some of the £8m they paid Feyenoord to sign him in 2014.
