Chelsea will have to pay £65million to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton this summer, according to the player’s father.

Incoming manager Antonio Conte is in the market for a new striker in the transfer window with Loic Remy, Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato all set to leave.

Lukaku is one of a number of names being considered by the Blues and will be available for a move at the right price.

His father Roger says that price is as high as £65million and he expects a deal to be signed before the start of Euro 2016 in France next month.

"Everton are asking around £65m for Rom,” he told Belgian publication Humo. “Now, with Romelu it will be quickly arranged.

“Whether the transfer has been sorted? Almost. I think it will be in place before the European Championship.

“He won't go to Italy, because they keep it closed at the back, too difficult for an attacker.

“What is certain, to continue to make progress, he needs to change clubs, but we are mainly engaged in making the right choice.”

“Romelu will decide his future, but agents have the last word most of the time. I hope and think [his agent] Mino Raiola is an honest man.”

Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are all reported to have made contact with Lukaku’s camp over a potential move.

The striker still banged in 25 goals last season for Everton, putting him the shop window ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window.

He would prefer Champions League football but would be willing to accept missing out next season to join a club who are likely to offer him European football in the future.

Lukaku remains under contract at Goodison Park until the summer of 2019 and joined the club for a fee of £28million from Chelsea two years ago.
