Loic Remy has been offered to a plethora of Premier League clubs this January as Chelsea look to freshen up their forward line.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is set to go head-to-head with his old club Newcastle in a battle for the player’s signature.

The Palace chief is hoping to lure the striker to Selhurst Park in a deal worth around £6million while his former club want to take him back to Tyneside in a loan move.

Pardew, who worked with Remy during his time as Newcastle boss, also has QPR striker Charlie Austin on his radar this winter but is unlikely to tempt the Blues with his valuation of the Frenchman.

Newcastle have been sounded out for a possible switch until the end of the season and are in need of firepower with Papiss Cisse out for another month with a groin injury.

Goal! Chelsea's Loic Remy celebrates

Remy admired by United’s chief scout Graham Carr, who tracked the 29-year-old for several seasons in France before the Magpies finally landed their man at the second attempt back in summer 2013.

He scored 14 goals in 26 games for the St James’ Park outfit in the 2013/14 season after moving north from QPR on a season-long switch.

Remy is also thought to have been offered to Swansea City, Norwich City and Aston Villa and is not short of options if he decides he needs more game-time than he is getting at Stamford Bridge.

He has slipped down the pecking order at Chelsea and played in just eight games in the Premier League and scoring once.

Guus Hiddink did not include him in Sunday’s squad for the London derby win over Crystal Palace.
