Swedish defensive prospect Joseph Colley is poised to complete a move to Chelsea next month.

The 16-year-old Brommapojkarna youngster will officially tie up a switch to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens on July 1.

GetWestLondon understands the transfer has been in the pipeline since December 2013 but the Blues allowed the player to remain in Stockholm to continue his development.

Manchester United were previously rumoured to have taken a look at the starlet.

Colley said his goodbyes to his BP team-mates earlier this week and is now ready to head to England to begin preparing for his new life with the Chelsea Academy at Cobham.

Tall and versatile, the teenager is capable of playing at right-back or in the heart of the defence and also as a holding midfielder.

He is set to link up with Joe Edwards’ U18s, who picked up their third FA Youth Cup crown in four years last April.
