Radamel Falcao will be staying put at Stamford Bridge despite a pitiful start to his Chelsea career.

The striker is on a season-long loan from Monaco but recent reports have suggested the Blues could cut the deal short, as well as linking the Columbian to a move to Spain with Valencia.

Falcao struggled at Manchester United last season and it has been more of the same under Jose Mourinho with the forward only netting one league goal this season.

When questioned on whether Falcao would be staying with the club, Mourinho said: “I hope so.

“I told you already, you can go to Falcao or another one, I told you, genuinely I hope everybody stays and nobody comes.

“We go together until the end and for sure in January we will be in a different situation than we are now.”

Bad case of the Blues: Diego Costa looks dejected

From one struggling striker to another, Mourinho refused to criticise out-of-form Diego Costa.

The forward has come under fire for more than just his inability to find the back of the net this season, with Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque suggesting that Costa should change some aspects of his behaviour.

Costa has only scored three goals in all competitions for the club, raising questions about his ability to lead Chelsea’s front line, despite netting 20 league goals last season.

Not for the first time this season Mourinho defended his player saying he is not the only one having a tough time at the moment.

He said: “Like the team. The team is also struggling for goals, the team scored more goals in previous seasons not playing so well and not creating so much.

“The period is difficult for everybody not just him.”
