Chelsea midfielder Lucas Piazon has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old heads to the Bundesliga as the Blues look for the opportunity to give the Brazilian more first team experience following a temporary spell at Vitesse Arnhem where he scored 11 goals in 29 appearances.

Piazon has previously been loaned out to Malaga, making his UEFA Champions League debut as a substitute against Porto in February and also played in their Spanish Cup quarter-final against Barcelona.

Frankfurt’s sporting director Bruno Hubner told the club's official website: “We are glad to be able to reach an agreement after lengthy but very fair negotiations with Chelsea.

"Piazon will strengthen us in the coming season. He has played on the left wing, he can play on the right and be used as an attacking midfielder.”

Piazon, who will wear the number 19 shirt in Germany, arrived at Chelsea in January 2012 and was part of the victorious FA Youth Cup team that season.

He made his first-team debut in September 2012 in a 6-0 Capital One Cup victory against Wolves.

Piazon made his Premier League debut in the 8-0 defeat of Aston Villa in December.
