Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is poised to sign a four-year deal with Brentford.

The 22-year-old reportedly passed a medical at Griffin Park on Friday and the move is set to be completed this week.

McEachran was tipped for superstardom after making his debut at the age of 17 against Zilina in the Champions League under Carlo Ancelotti.

He signed a lucrative five-year deal with the Blues at the age of 18 but made his final appearance for the club against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2012.

Loan spells at Swansea, Middlesbrough, Watford, Wigan and Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse followed as he faded out of the picture at Stamford Bridge.

Vitesse last week confirmed he would not be returning to the Netherlands and revealed Jose Mourinho’s side plans to sell their England U21 international this summer.

Brentford now appears to be his destination as McEachran drops down to the Championship to join Marinus Dijkhuizen’s Bees.
