The complicated three-way switch at Chelsea has wrapped up the signing of Colombia international Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina for what is expected to be a hefty £26.8m fee.

The biggest fee paid by any English club in the January transfer window is owned by the Blues as well when they paid Liverpool close to £50m for Fernando Torres in January, 2011.

The striker is putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract having passed a medical as well as Tweeting a pic from Stamford Bridge.

His fee is offset by the departures of André Schurrle and Mohamed Salah.

Goodbye: Schurrle

Salah has gone the opposite direction to Fiorentina on a six-month loan, with an option to join the Viola permanently, while Schurrle’s fee to VfL Wolfsburg doesn’t get much change out of £24m.

The Blues were keen to balance books as well as make sure Uefa officials weren's stirred to get in touch regarding financial fair play regulations.

The World Cup winner will pocket around £85,000-a-week over a four-and-a-half-year contract as well as reuniting with former Chelsea team-mate Kevin de Bruyne at the club currently second in the Bundesliga.

Schurrle joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for £18m in June 2013 and has scored five goals in 22 appearances this season.

Loan: Mohamed Salah (R)

Cuadrado has already used his mobile, not only to tweet pics of the Bridge, but to thank Fiorentina’s fans for their support.

“Florence will always be in my heart,” said the Colombia forward. “The people are extraordinary. The fans full of passion. The Viola launched my career and gave me the opportunity to grow also thanks to a great club and exceptional team-mates. Now a new journey awaits me. New emotions. New objective. But always with Florence in my heart."
