Thibaut Courtois reckons only a strange turn of events will see him leave Chelsea this summer.

The Belgian continues to be linked with Real Madrid despite the Blues pricing the goalkeeper at a staggering £73million this summer.

Courtois spent a successful loan period in the Spanish capital with Atletico as his game flourished in La Liga.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with a long-standing interest but it is understood the 24-year-old does not want to move to France.

Chelsea have no European football to offer Courtois next season after a disastrous campaign which saw them finish in mid-table in the Premier League.

However, the tall shot-stopper has indicated his future is likely to remain with the Blues as they prepare to enter a new era under Antonio Conte.

Admirer: Real Madrid's head coach Zinedine Zidane

He told a Spanish radio station: "I have three more years on my contract with Chelsea. If nothing strange happens, I will still be at Chelsea next year."

Incoming boss Conte has already met face-to-face with the entire Chelsea squad at the club’s Cobham training complex.

It is thought the Italian was keen to remove goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon from his position with the Blues and replace him with one of his favoured staff.

Lollichon and Courtois have had differences of opinion on how to develop the player’s skills in the past, adding fuel to the fire that the keeper would seek an exit.
