Chelsea are believed to be in advanced talks with Besiktas over a loan move for Kenneth Omeruo.

The 22-year-old Nigerian international originally signed for Chelsea from Standard Liege four years ago but it yet to play a single game for the Blues.

Instead, he has formed part of Chelsea’s army of loan rangers in the past few years as he moved to ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough and then Turkish side Kasimpasa.

Omeruo settled into life in Turkey well last season and sources in the country are suggesting he will remain in the Super Lig for the 2016/17 campaign.

Besiktas are the reigning champions and can offer the centre-back Champions League football for next season.

Reports in Turkey say Chelsea are willing to waive any loan fee for Omeruo on the condition that his €1.1 million per season wages are covered.

Omeruo now looks set to be a part of Nigeria’s squad for the Olympic Games in Rio despite previously being ruled out the the sporting showcase with a groin injury.

He was first called up for Nigeria duty in January 2013 and he went on to play at that year's Africa Cup of Nations and Confederations Cup before gracing the 2014 World Cup.

Omeruo could be joined in the Turkish league next season by Chelsea striker Loic Remy as Fenerbahce continue to pursue a move for the Frenchman.

Ghanaian Baba Rahman has also been linked with the Yellow Canaries but has indicated he is ready to remain at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place under Antonio Conte.

“I have already spoken to Conte,” he said. “From what I have seen and noticed about him, he is a coach who can help Chelsea a lot.

“If you look at his tactics[and style of play, I think it’s going to help Chelsea.”

Rahman arrived at the Bridge with a good reputation forged after a superb season for Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

However, he was barely afforded any minutes on the pitch under Jose Mourinho in the first half of the season as the Special One stuck with Cesar Azpilicueta.

Defensive injuries saw Azpilicueta shifted to right back during the back-end of the campaign and allowed Rahman to get some football under his belt.

But the left-back did not seize his opportunity to impress after a series of shaky displays, not to mention being hauled off at half-time at Southampton in February.
