Chelsea have completed the signing of Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid on a three-year deal.

The Blues agreed a fee with the La Liga champions earlier this week and the defender has since passed a medical and agreed personal terms to finalise the move.

Luis, who starred against Jose Mourinho’s side in last season’s Champions League, said: “This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League.

“I’m very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons.”

Luis arrives at Stamford Bridge as a direct replacement for former England international Ashley Cole, who was allowed to join Roma on a free transfer this summer.

Chelsea continue their pre-season campaign at League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon tomorrow afternoon.
