Alexandre Pato is on his way to west London after it emerged Chelsea had struck a loan deal with Corinthians.

The former AC Milan striker is reportedly due to board a plane bound for Heathrow Airport on Tuesday night.

According to Brazilian TV channel SporTV, a six-month loan deal has been agreed by both parties as the Samba star prepares to head to the Premier League.

Pato’s agent, Gilmar Veloz, confirmed the news during an interview with the south america sports news outlet.

The Blues have agreed the deal with a view to making the move permanent if the forward proves a hit at Stamford Bridge..

Pato, according to the Mirror, is expected to fly from Sao Paulo at 11.50pm Brazilian time, meaning he should arrive in the UK on Wednesday morning.

Chelsea will pay the entirety of the 26-year-old's wages, believed to be as little as £30,000 a week, for the duration of. the loan period.
