Queens Park Rangers target Terell Thomas has signed a contract with Wigan Athletic following the end of his current deal.

The 21-year-old was set to become a free agent following the end of his deal with Charlton Athletic, but has put pen to paper on an initial one-year deal.

The young defender is a product of Charlton's academy, but failed to make a single senior appearance at the London club.

Kent Live has described the move as 'sensational' for Thomas, who reportedly snubbed offers from 'QPR, Woking, Stevenage, Hibernian and Chesterfield' to join the Latics.
