Rumours have been flying around the Championship clubs this morning, so here is our quick look at the day's chatter.

The headlines include QPR hijacking Reading's move for League One striker Conor Washington and Blackburn edging closer to bringing in Sunderland forward Danny Graham.

Middlesbrough are also rumoured to be in for a goalscorer, with Boro supposedly readying another bid for Fulham star Ross McCormack.

Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn are set to complete the loan signing of Danny Graham from Sunderland today after the striker completes a medical.

The 30-year-old has scored once for the Black Cats since leaving Swansea in 2013 for £5m.

It is thought Paul Lambert wants to bolster his attacking options with Jordan Rhodes' Ewood Park future very much uncertain.

Bristol City

Bristol City have launched a £1m bid for in-form Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old has scored 13 in 27 games this season and has helped Gillingham to third place in League One - three points off the top.

The Robins have netted just 24 times this season and the introduction of Dack could inject more creativity and goals into the manager-less side.

Cardiff City

Boss: Cardiff City manager Russell Slade salutes the fans

Yesterday we brought you the news that Burnley were interested in Bluebirds centre-back Matthew Connolly after having a bid for Brentford's James Tarkowski rejected.

Today however the defender has penned a new five-year deal for the Welsh side, bringing an end to Clarets hopes of capturing the 28-year-old.

The centre-half is key to Russell Slade's plans, having started all 27 league games this season, and looks set to remain in the Welsh capital to help with the play-off push.

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town have been linked with a move for Algerian international midfielder Karim Matmour.

The play-maker represented his country in the 2010 World Cup and is a free agent after leaving Kuwaiti Premier League side Al Arabi in October.

Terriers head coach David Wagner has spoken of his desire to bring more attacking options to the John Smith's Stadium and Matmour has a good playing record in the boss' home country, Germany.

Hull City

The Tigers are are looking to sign on-loan Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden on a full-time basis, reports the Evening Standard.

The 20-year-old scored in Hull's 6-0 win over struggling Charlton at the weekend, and Steve Bruce is keen on keeping hold of the youngster.

The manager told the Hull Daily Mail: “I've already been on to Arsenal because I'd love to make [the loan] permanent if I could.

“I'd make it permanent tomorrow if that was possible. I desperately want to hang on to him. In an ideal world he'd want to be playing every week but he's started last weekend and again.

“He's a very good young player, who's progressing all the time.”

Boro are still interested in luring Ross McCormack to the Riverside this transfer window, according to Sky Sports' Keith Downie.

The striker has found the net 15 times so far this season and many clubs are looking to take the forward off cash-strapped Fulham's books.

The Cottagers turned down a £6m bid for their talisman last week, but Aitor Karanka's side remain in the hunt for the goalscorer who could propel them back into the Premier League after a seven-year absence.

QPR

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side are reported to have agreed a £2.5m move for Peterborough hot-shot Conor Washington.

The former Newport County forward was thought to be in talks with Reading, but the Hoops have swooped in as negotiations stalled and have agreed a fee with the Posh.

This morning Peterborough director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Telegraph: “The deal isn’t done until the paperwork is completed, but QPR are the only ones we are currently involved with regarding the sale of Conor.

“QPR have made an offer that’s acceptable to the club and the player wants to go which is perfectly understandable.

"We believe the deal is a good one for Posh and will be a good one for Conor.”

Reading FC

The Royals have reportedly agreed a fee for Manchester City youngster George Evans.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has spent time on loan at Crewe, Scunthorpe and Walsall, scoring 5 goals in his 61 appearances.

Evans started out at City in the U8's side and developed all the way through the academy, making a first-team appearance against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup earlier in the season.
