Steven Caulker would be a great signing for Glasgow Celtic, Hoops ace Scott Sinclair has told the Daily Record.

The QPR defender, who has been suffering from problems off the pitch, has been told he doesn't have a future at Loftus Road.

He worked with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at Swansea, impressing in the Welsh side's first season in the Premier League, but has struggled since leaving Tottenham for Cardiff and then QPR.

Caulker had unsuccessful loan spells at Southampton and Liverpool and missed most of last season with injury and personal problems.

New start: Steven Caulker

The winger said: “Steven would be a great signing for us.

“The manager obviously knows him well from being at Swansea.

"He had an amazing season there and hopefully he can get his career back on track.

“This would be a great club for him to be at. I’m sure he looks at myself and sees that I was also at a crossroads in my career.

“But there is no better place to be than at Celtic. If he every spoke to me about it, I’d tell him it’s the best place to be.”
