Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has not spoken to Petr Cech on why he dropped him - but hopes the club legend doesn’t get itchy feet.

In fact, any one left out of a Blues line-up will also find the Special One remaining silent until they trek to the end of the corridor at the training ground.

That’s where Mourinho’s office is, and where he will enlighten those demanding to know where they stand.

Mourinho revealed Frank Lampard departed in the summer without a word of explanation, and Didier Drogba likewise remains in the dark about his seat on the bench at the 3-1 win at Burnley on Monday.

However, the Chelsea manager refused to rule out a loan move for Cech, practically ever-present since he arrived 326 games and 10 long years ago.

“I think the hierarchy in my club, the owner and the board – I come after them – if that moment came, for any reason, Petr deserves to sit with him and to listen to him,” said Mourinho. “He deserves everything from this club, but I hope that moment doesn’t arrive.”

The club will wait until the final moment to name its squads for both Premier League and Champions League, and then loan out those who fail to make either.

The manager believes Cech and everyone else will get opportunities to play when the competitions start to stack up, but if they don’t, it’s down to them to find out why.

“I don't have to speak to players about decisions, I've never done this in my career,” added the manager.

“I don't like to be always justifying my decisions to the players. They all know where my office is.

“I know it's a bit far for them, the last office in the corridor, and they know where I am. If they need an explanation, I never close the door. I'll give one. Petr didn't come to me. He worked fantastically well in the group, with his mates, polite and professional. That's what we need.”
