AFC Wimbledon have completed the double signing of Karleigh Osborne and Tom Elliott.

Centre-back Osborne joins on a season-long loan from Bristol City while striker Elliott heads to Kingsmeadow after being released by Cambridge United.

Wimbledon yesterday wrapped up a deal for Portsmouth winger Andy Barcham and this week’s three new arrivals mean Neal Ardley now only has two names left on his shopping list.

A central defensive partner for Osborne is a must and the Dons are also in the market for another forward to add to their ranks.

Southall-born Osborne, who has no recall clause in his loan deal, joined Bristol City in November 2013 on loan from Millwall before making the deal permanent two months later.

Elliott came through the ranks at Leeds United and is a powerful striker who will offer Ardley another physical presence up front in addition to Bayo Akinfenwa.

Ardley told Dons Player: “We’ve signed Karleigh on a season-long loan, with no breaks, he’s ours for the season until May 31.

“I’d like to thank Bristol City and Steve Cotterill in particular who have been great through the whole process.

“We’ve got a player who has played a lot of League One games, played Championship, he’s strong, athletic and powerful and he ticks the criteria that we tried to set at the start of the summer and we’ve been patient to land.

“Tom is a striker. I met with him probably over a month ago now and sold the deal to him. He went away and there was a lot of interest from other clubs, to the point where he had an offer from a League One club and I thought we’d lose him, but we’ve managed to seal the deal.”
