Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is raiding his old club Burton on transfer deadline day for Nasser El Khayati.

The QPR manager has agreed a £350,000 fee with the Brewers to take the striker to Loftus Road.

Hasselbaink knows all about his compatriot from his time in charge of the League One leaders.

El Khayati has scored 11 goals already in the third tier this term and is now looking to make the step up to the Championship with Rangers.

The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Hoops and is due to undergo a medical in west London later on today in advance of tonight’s deadline.

A statement on the Burton website read: “Burton Albion striker Nasser El Khayati is in talks with Championship QPR after the two clubs agreed a fee for the 26-year-old.

“If the player agrees personal terms he will be reunited with former Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who brought him to the Pirelli Stadium in January 2015.

“El Khayati did not feature in today's (Saturday's) Albion game at Rochdale as the transfer negotiations progressed.”

El Khayati is a versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line and will help compensate for the loss of Charlie Austin to Southampton earlier in the window.
